The consultant group representing 51 Central and Southern Illinois communities announced May 8 that Homefield Energy has been selected to serve as the new residential electric supplier. The switch to Homefield Energy electric supply will begin in early June.
The new supply rate will provide an estimated 30% savings for an average residential customer using approximately 800 kilowatt-hours per month. The savings will appear on the energy supply portion of customers’ current electric utility bills. Actual savings will vary based on specific usage patterns. The transition will be seamless - the only difference customers will notice is a lower supply cost on their utility bill. Customers may choose to opt out of the program. Opt-out notifications and details are to come.
